Portrait of Domino

As always, I began with a raw umber underpainting for this portrait of Domino, painted alongside his "sister" Molly in the summer of 2024. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this handsome Border Collie, capturing the playful spark in his bright, curious eyes. Border Collies are known for their boundless energy, and I made sure to reflect that lively spirit in the portrait.

I kept the backgrounds similar to Molly’s, though not identical, so they would complement each other beautifully when displayed together. The client was thrilled with the finished pieces and even sent me photos of the framed paintings — the frame they chose was a perfect match, enhancing the work wonderfully.
