There’s something deeply moving about the quiet strength of big cats, that balance of wild power and calm stillness. Snow Ghost was painted to capture one of those rare moments of pause: a young snow leopard resting on the rocks, alert yet serene, caught in that breath just before movement.
I built this piece slowly using a classical approach, starting with a warm umber underpainting to establish the structure and the light. From there, I layered soft glazes to develop the depth in his fur and the cool, misty atmosphere behind him. His face was my favourite part to paint, gentle but focused, full of character, showing both his strength and his youthfulness in that steady gaze.
Painting animals has always been where I feel most connected; there’s such soul in their eyes, and through every layer, I aim to bring that quiet emotion to life.
This piece comes framed in a hand-finished oak float frame, ready to hang, and includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity. This is the original painting, and no prints will be made, making Snow Ghost an exclusive collector’s piece.
