There’s something deeply moving about the quiet strength of big cats, that blend of wild power and calm stillness. Snow Ghost was painted to capture that fleeting moment of pause, the snow leopard on the rocks, alert yet serene, as if caught between motion and silence.
I built this piece slowly, beginning with a classical underpainting in warm umbers before layering soft glazes to build depth into the fur and the cool, misty atmosphere behind him. The leopard’s face was my favourite part to paint, soft but deliberate, revealing both his strength and also his youthfulness in that alert gaze.
Painting animals has always been where I feel most connected; there’s such soul in their eyes, and through every layer, I aim to bring that quiet emotion to life.
This piece comes framed in a hand-finished oak float frame, ready to hang, and includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
