Alsatian (Oils)

This piece was a personal project, painted in oils on an 11x14-inch canvas board. It now hangs proudly in my studio. I created it from a photo reference as part of my practice and to update my website with fresh work.
I used this portrait as a chance to loosen my brushwork while still focusing on finer details, particularly in the fur. My liner brush got a proper workout here, helping to demonstrate more intricate fur techniques with a lighter touch.

The reference photo was fantastic, and it allowed me to capture those soulful, expressive eyes, always the soul of the subject, and my favourite part to bring to life.
