Natasha – Sunlight and Sea Breeze
This portrait of my youngest daughter, Natasha, now hangs proudly in our hallway alongside her brother Ashley and sister Sophie—a little gallery of my favourite people.

The reference came from a lovely photo taken during a beach day with friends. I chose to crop the image to focus solely on Natasha, capturing a serene moment in her pose. To enhance the composition, I flipped the beach background and played with the lighting, particularly the soft, bluish reflections on her face from the sea and sky.

Her bright yellow top, scattered with delicate flowers, was a real joy to paint. There's something so special about painting my own children; I’ve created portraits of them at different ages over the years, and each one holds a unique memory frozen in time.
