Ampersand Gesso Board

Ampersand Gessobord is one of my favourite surfaces for detailed oil painting, especially when accuracy and fine brushwork are essential. I use the uncradled version, which is lightweight, easy to store, and perfect for framing. Although the surface comes pre-primed and ultra-smooth, I still add extra coats of gesso to create an even more refined surface with an almost velour-like feel—perfect for achieving delicate detail. These boards also come in cradled options if you prefer a ready-to-hang finish. One big bonus: boards are far more affordable to ship overseas compared to stretched canvases, making them a practical and professional choice for commission work.
