Sylvan Falls is my personal expression of tranquillity, a quiet place where the world seems to hold its breath. I wanted to capture that soothing energy you feel beside a woodland waterfall: the gentle cascade, the cool air, the rich greens gathering around the water’s edge. It’s the kind of scene that invites you to slow down and simply be present.
 
I approached this piece with a classical underpainting to map out the light and structure before building the atmosphere with layered colour. The soft transitions in the water and foliage were especially rewarding to paint, guiding the eye through the landscape in an unhurried, calming way.
 
This is the original painting on panel, framed in a black float frame and ready to hang. It comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and no prints will be made, making Sylvan Falls an exclusive collector’s piece.
