The Amber Trail was painted wet into wet, which gave me the freedom to keep the atmosphere soft and the colours beautifully blended, exactly what an autumn scene needs. Once the first layer had dried, I returned to the canvas to refine the light, strengthen the textures, and add those quiet details that bring the scene to life.
Autumn has always been my favourite season. The warm oranges, the low sun, and that gentle shift in the air create a feeling of nostalgia I never tire of painting. I wanted the figure on the path to reflect that mood, a man simply taking in the beauty before him, unhurried, letting the moment settle.
This is the original painting from the MazArt Academy lesson, and no prints will be made, making it an exclusive collector’s piece. It carries the full depth of the wet-into-wet foundation, along with the later refinements that give an oil painting its presence and quiet glow, qualities that only an original can possess.
This piece is unframed, with the sides painted and fully strung, ready to hang. It comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
